CyberSecurity Director

This thriving pet supplies and services company is looking for an InfoSec/Director of IT to work in either their New York City, NY or Columbus, OH location.

This CyberSecurity Director will spearhead, and be a major decision maker in regards to company-wide systems that will be implemented to accommodate this growth.


  • Oversees security systems, identifies potential network vulnerabilities and devises strategies to counter the methods cybercriminals use to infiltrate information systems
  • Responsible for network security architecture definition and development (improves physical security on corporate LANs/WANs across multiple locations)
  • Identifies areas of the network that have risks of being hacked, prioritize risks, and then find methods to protect these systems from hackers
  • Responsible for application security architecture ? Firewalls/routers ? Intrusion Detection/prevention ? Cryptography & PKI ? Operating systems (preferably Linux) ? Databases ? Certified in at least one of the following: ? CISSP ? CISM ? SANS Security Certification
  • Sets up patch management systems to update applications automatically
  • Is familiar with local and federal laws concerning IT security and work with teams to ensure that the business follows these policies
  • Is an expert in current encryption standards & implementation
  • Performs real-time analysis of immediate threats, and triages when something goes wrong
  • Monitor network and application performance to identify and irregular activity
  • Perform regular audits to ensure security practices are compliant
  • Deploy endpoint detection and prevention tools to thwart malicious hacks
  • Designs, implements and oversees identity and access management systems
  • Responsible for data loss and fraud prevention: Making sure internal staff doesn't misuse or steal data
  • Reviews security posture of third-party vendors; creates and monitors requirements for third party vendors.
  • Expert in cloud-based infrastructure, products, services, and their corresponding Infosec best practices. [AWS, G-suite, Slack very notable]
  • Implements comprehensive vulnerability management systems across all assets on-premises and in the cloud
  • Works with IT Manager to set up a shared disaster recovery/business continuity plan

Personal Qualifications: Self-starter, communicative, organized, process-driven but not abrasively rigid, transparent, expert in the field. Can build from zero.
