The Product Development Associate role is critical to supporting the companys strategy to deliver innovative products at superior value. The Associate will assist PD managers in executing product line plans to achieve annual sales and profit goals. With limited supervision, the candidate will work independently on assigned projects while contributing to collaborative efforts within the team.
A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and constantly engaging with cross-functional and overseas partners within the company.
The PD Associate will assist the PD team in developing profitable programs. He/she will support product sell-in at markets and account meetings.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Complete customer/item-level product specifications for company items as assigned. These documents reflect the required labels, case packs, carton weights, critical dimensions and final packaging, necessary to manufacture the product.
Law and Care Labels
Create and approve care and law labels on products as assigned. Requires coordination with internal and external personnel to ensure that all requirements are met. Works with marketing team to verify care instructions match product packaging.
Assist PD managers with bi-annual Market development. May include: competitive shopping, trend analysis, new product ideas, spec building, coordination of packaging renders with marketing, sample tracking.
Updating Product Catalog and Product Specifications
Maintain companys Product Catalog throughout the product life cycle. This includes entering new and updating existing items with changes. The position will also assist with creating, updating and publishing product specification via our internal database.
Assist with tracking and payment of sample charges. Work with finance to request PRAs and pass back to China office. Complete item set-ups for sales partners as needed. Other administrative duties as assigned: meeting planning and set up, scheduling conference rooms etc. May assist the sample team in preparing for customer meetings.
Bachelors Degree required.
A minimum of 0 2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly and work in a high-pressure environment.
Keen attention to detail; strong multi-tasking abilities.
Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are required.
Ability to gain proficiency in new software packages (Adobe Illustrator, etc.).
